Takeaway Containers for Wellington Operators
Wellington runs on food-to-go, and a container that leaks on the Terrace is a container that costs you a customer.
We supply takeaway containers to Wellington hospitality businesses — cafes, sushi spots, Indian joints, the lot. Leak-resistant seals, microwave-safe construction, stackable for tight kitchens. Sizes from 500ml up to 1250ml.
Materials are PP, Bagasse, and Kraft. Pick what suits your menu, your customers, and your conscience.

Why Operators in Wellington Use These
Wellington has one of the highest cafe densities per capita in the world. The competition is tight. A container that holds heat, doesn't leak, and looks tidy matters more here than it might elsewhere.
The Bagasse trays handle hot curries and noodle dishes without going soggy. The RPET lid lets customers see what they ordered before they leave the counter. The Kraft box stacks flat in a busy prep area.
These aren't exotic specs. They're just basics done properly.
Materials Explained Quickly
PP (Polypropylene) — hard-wearing plastic, microwave-safe, freezer-safe. Reusable if your customers bother.
Bagasse — made from sugarcane fibre left over after processing. Compostable in the right conditions. Better for hot, saucy food than most paper alternatives.
Kraft — recycled paperboard. Good presentation, lower cost, handles moderate moisture. Not for soups.
Ordering for Wellington
We currently supply 2 Wellington businesses directly from our catalogue. That number's small because we're honest about it, not because we're picky about who we work with.
If you're a Wellington operator looking for a reliable wholesale supplier, the process is straightforward. Browse the catalogue, place an order, and stocked lines go out the same day if you're in before 4pm on a business day.
Custom print or non-stocked sizes take longer — contact us before assuming a lead time.
Frequently asked
What sizes do you stock for takeaway containers?+
Current stocked sizes start at 500ml. The range covers up to 1250ml depending on the product line. Check individual SKUs for exact dimensions — F4229 is 180x124x42mm at 500ml, F2507 is 127x107x64mm at medium.
Are these containers microwave-safe?+
The PP containers are microwave-safe. Bagasse handles heat well too. Kraft board is not suitable for microwave use. Check the product spec before telling your customers otherwise.
Can I get custom printing on the containers?+
Custom print is available but it's not a stocked item. Lead times are longer and minimum quantities apply. Contact us before placing an order if that's what you need.
Are the Bagasse containers actually compostable?+
Yes, in a commercial composting facility. Home composting is slower and less reliable. If you're making claims to customers, check what your local Wellington waste contractor accepts.
How quickly will my order arrive in Wellington?+
Stocked lines dispatched before 4pm on a NZ business day go out same day. Delivery times to Wellington after that depend on the courier. We don't control that leg, so we won't promise a specific day.
What's the minimum order quantity?+
It varies by product. F4229 comes in cartons of 500, F1855 and F1856 in cartons of 300, F2507 in cartons of 200. We sell by the carton, not by the unit.
