Chinese Takeaway Packaging
From steamed dumplings to saucy noodles, the right container keeps the meal intact from wok to door.
Chinese takeaways move fast. Noodles go soggy, sauces leak, and containers that flex under heat make a mess before the customer even gets home. We stock containers that handle the weight, the moisture, and the grease without falling apart.
Whether you're running a dim sum kitchen, a CBD noodle bar, or a family takeaway doing serious Friday night volume, there's a box or container here that fits.
Containers built for Chinese food
Fried rice, chow mein, honey chicken — they're all heavy, saucy, and hot. You need a container with a secure lid, decent wall strength, and enough base area to stop things sliding around.
Our black oval containers come in 500ml and 750ml, 250 per carton. Good for individual portions of stir-fry or rice dishes. The oval shape stacks well in a bag and looks sharp on the counter.
Need something bigger for family orders or bulk sauces? The 5 litre DG plastic container with cap handles it. Proper seal, won't pop in transit.
Bio options for greener operators
More customers are asking about packaging. If you want to answer that question with something real, we stock a few solid bio options.
- Bio Square Container 280ml — 130 x 130 x 45mm, white, 600 per carton. Good for dim sum portions or sides.
- Bio Lid to suit 280ml and 480ml Bio Square Containers — sold separately, 600 per carton. Make sure you're ordering the right lid for the right container.
- BioCane Takeaway Tray 500ml — 180 x 124 x 42mm, 500 per carton. Flat tray format, works well for steamed dishes or noodle portions.
- Biopak Rectangular Container 500ml — 300 per carton. Rectangular footprint, easy to stack, compostable.
Wide-base containers for soups and sauces
Soup dumplings, wonton soup, congee — anything liquid needs a wide, stable base and a lid that actually seals. The RF0610.1 Bonson Wide Base Container in black, 700ml, is designed for exactly this. Low centre of gravity, 500 per carton.
It's a practical container. Stable in a bag, takes liquid without flexing, and the black finish looks decent for anything going out under a branded sticker.

Frequently asked
What size container works best for a standard noodle or rice dish?+
The 500ml black oval container or the 700ml Bonson wide base container both work well for a single serve. The oval suits drier dishes, the wide base is better for anything saucy or soupy.
Are your bio containers actually compostable?+
The BioCane trays and Biopak rectangular containers are compostable. The Bio Square containers are also bio-based. Check the product page for specific certifications before making any claims to your customers.
Do the bio square container lids fit all bio square containers?+
The RF4218 bio lid fits the 280ml and 480ml bio square containers. It won't fit other sizes, so double-check before you order.
What's the minimum order quantity?+
We sell by the carton. Quantities vary by product — for example, black oval containers are 250 per carton, bio square containers are 600 per carton. The carton size is listed on each product page.
Can I get custom printed containers?+
Custom print isn't covered on this page. Get in touch directly and we can talk through what's possible and what the minimums look like.
How quickly will my order arrive?+
Stocked lines dispatch same day if ordered before 4pm on a NZ business day. Delivery timeframes depend on your location. We dispatch from our warehouse — transit time to your door varies by region.
