Sushi Packaging for Wellington Stores
Compact capital, serious sushi scene — here's the packaging that keeps up.
Wellington runs on grab-and-go. Tight lunch hours, high foot traffic, customers who want their six-piece in their hand before they even reach the door. Your trays need to hold a clean line, not leak, and look decent under fluorescent lighting at 1pm on a Wednesday.
We stock BioBoard and BioCane sushi trays in five sizes — extra small through to long. Cartons of 300 or 600. Order before 4pm on a business day and we dispatch same day on stocked lines.
BioBoard Sushi Trays — Kraft and Black
These are the workhorses. Kraft exterior, black food-contact interior, flat base that sits square on a grab-and-go shelf. Five sizes in the range:
- F4651 — Extra Small, 300 per carton
- F4652 — Small, 300 per carton
- F4653 — Medium, 300 per carton
- F4654 — Large, 300 per carton
- F4655 — Long, 300 per carton
The long tray suits hosomaki rows. The extra small fits a two-piece snack portion without rattling around. Stock a couple of sizes and you cover most of what comes across your counter.
BioCane Sushi Trays — Sugarcane Fibre
Made from sugarcane bagasse — the fibre left after the juice is extracted. Rigid, compostable, and they look good on a deli counter. Three sizes stocked:
- F4642 — Medium, 188 x 134 x 24mm, 600 per carton
- F4644 — Large, 214 x 134 x 24mm
- F4646 — Long, 221 x 91 x 24mm
The 24mm depth keeps your pieces upright without overcrowding. The 600-count carton on the medium suits high-volume stores that are going through trays fast.
What Wellington Sushi Stores Actually Need
CBD sushi bars move volume at speed. Your packaging needs to stack cleanly, load fast, and not collapse when someone picks it up from the bottom of a bag. Both our BioBoard and BioCane ranges hold their shape under a cling-wrapped stack.

Ordering and Dispatch
We dispatch stocked lines the same business day if your order is in before 4pm NZ time. Wellington delivery is via overnight courier from our warehouse — most orders arrive next morning.

Which tray size suits a standard six-piece hosomaki roll?+
The BioBoard Long (F4655) or the BioCane Long (F4646 at 221 x 91mm) both suit a row of hosomaki. The long format keeps the pieces from sliding sideways. The medium works for a mixed six-piece where you want a bit more width.
Are the BioCane trays actually compostable?+
Yes. BioCane is made from sugarcane bagasse and is certified compostable. Check with your local Wellington composting facility for their specific accepted materials list, as acceptance can vary by processor.
Do you stock clear lids to go with the sushi trays?+

What's the minimum order quantity?+
There's no enforced minimum. The BioBoard trays come 300 per carton and the BioCane medium comes 600 per carton. You can order a single carton. Volume pricing is available if you're moving larger quantities.
Can I get custom printed trays?+
Custom print is available on selected lines but requires minimum quantities and lead time. It's not an off-the-shelf order. Contact us with your volume and timeline and we'll tell you straight whether it's feasible.
How quickly does delivery reach Wellington?+
We dispatch same business day on stocked lines for orders placed before 4pm NZ time. From our warehouse, Wellington typically receives overnight courier delivery, so most orders land the next morning. We can't guarantee courier transit times, but that's the usual pattern.
