Sushi Packaging for Tauranga Operators
Coastal city, busy lunch trade, grab-and-go counters that don't stop — your trays need to keep up.
Tauranga's hospo scene moves fast. Tourism traffic, CBD lunch crowds, waterfront foot traffic. Sushi counters here need packaging that looks tidy, holds its shape, and doesn't run out mid-service.
We stock BioBoard and BioCane sushi trays in multiple sizes, packed in cartons of 300 to 600. One Tauranga operator already orders through us. If you're the second, here's what's on the shelf.
BioBoard Sushi Trays — Kraft and Black
Board construction with a kraft and black finish. Clean, recognisable sushi presentation without any extra effort. Available in five sizes so you're not squashing your nigiri or rattling your maki.
- Extra Small (F4651) — 300 per carton
- Small (F4652) — 300 per carton
- Medium (F4653) — 300 per carton
- Large (F4654) — 300 per carton
- Long (F4655) — 300 per carton
The long tray is useful for rolls. The extra small handles a two-piece snack pack or a single bento add-on. Pick the size that matches your menu, not your storage space.
BioCane Sushi Trays — Sugarcane Fibre
Made from bagasse — the sugarcane fibre left after juice extraction. Compostable, rigid enough to handle a full tray of sashimi, and available in three sizes.
- Medium (F4642) — 188 x 134 x 24mm, 600 per carton
- Large (F4644) — 214 x 134 x 24mm
- Long (F4646) — 221 x 91 x 24mm
The medium carton runs to 600 units, which helps on storage and cost per tray. Good option if your customers care about what the packaging is made from — plenty of Tauranga's tourist trade does.
Ordering and Dispatch
Order by 4pm on a NZ business day and we dispatch the same day on stocked lines. These sushi trays are stocked lines.
Carton quantities mean you're not paying courier costs every other week. Order enough to cover a solid run and you're sorted. If you're unsure which size moves best for your counter, compare the dimensions above against your most common portion.
Why Tauranga Sushi Operators Need the Right Tray
A flimsy tray leaks through to a paper bag before the customer gets to the waterfront. That's a refund conversation you don't want on a busy Saturday.
Both the BioBoard and BioCane trays have enough depth and rigidity to keep portions in place. They stack flat for storage, which matters when your prep area is the size of a corridor.
Neither range needs any assembly. Pull from the carton, fill, wrap or lid, and go.
Frequently asked
What sushi tray sizes do you stock for Tauranga delivery?+
We stock BioBoard trays in extra small, small, medium, large, and long. BioCane comes in medium (188 x 134 x 24mm), large (214 x 134 x 24mm), and long (221 x 91 x 24mm). All are available for dispatch from our warehouse.
Are the BioCane trays actually compostable?+
BioCane is made from sugarcane fibre (bagasse), which is compostable. Check your local Tauranga composting facility for acceptance criteria — industrial composting conditions are usually required.
How many trays come in a carton?+
BioBoard trays are 300 per carton across all five sizes. The BioCane medium is 600 per carton. Carton counts for BioCane large and long — check the product pages or contact us directly.
Can I get custom printed sushi trays?+
Custom print isn't covered on this page and we don't want to promise what we haven't confirmed. Get in touch and we'll tell you straight what's possible and what the minimum runs look like.
Do these trays need a separate lid?+
These are open trays. Most sushi operators wrap with film or use a separate lid. If you need lidded containers, check our deli container range — link below.
How fast will my order arrive in Tauranga?+
We dispatch same day on stocked lines if you order by 4pm on a NZ business day. Courier transit to Tauranga from our warehouse depends on your location within the city — we don't control carrier times once it's out the door.
