We supply salad bowls to Hamilton hospitality operators — from university-strip lunch spots to suburban takeaway stores. Currently four Hamilton businesses order through us, and we're stocked and ready to add more.
Bowls come in kraft and bagasse, 500ml through to 1300ml. Clear or kraft lids. Freezer and microwave safe options. Home-compostable if that matters to your customers — and in Waikato, it increasingly does.
Materials and what they're actually good for
Bagasse is pressed sugarcane fibre. It handles warm food well, it's home-compostable, and it doesn't go soggy on a dressed salad the way thin card can. Good for poke, grain bowls, anything saucy.
Kraft bowls are rigid, clean-looking, and stack tightly. If you're running a high-volume lunch service and need something that moves fast off the shelf, kraft is the practical pick.
PP (polypropylene) options are available for cold prep and freezer storage. Clear sides, freezer safe, microwave safe. Not compostable, but built for the job.
Sizes we stock

All sizes come with matching lid options. Order in carton quantities. Mix sizes within an order if you need to.
Ordering from Hamilton
We dispatch stocked lines on the same day if your order is in before 4pm on a NZ business day. Hamilton is well-served by North Island freight, so lead times are typically short — but we won't quote you a number we can't stand behind.
Set up a trade account and order online. No minimum order theatrics. If you're running low mid-week, you can reorder without calling anyone.
Who uses these in Hamilton
The university precinct runs a lot of build-your-own bowl concepts. Suburban spots around Rototuna and Flagstaff are doing poke and Asian fusion takeaway at volume. Frankly bowls suit both — quick to pack, presentable enough to hand over the counter without apologising for the packaging.
If you're running a catering operation or a market stall out of Hamilton, the 1000ml and 1300ml bagasse bowls hold up without a separate bag.
Lids, compostability, and the questions we actually get asked
Clear lids show the food. Kraft lids are more opaque but stack better in a bag. Both fit securely — the base is rigid enough that the lid doesn't pop on a busy Friday night.
Home-compostable means your customers can put the bowl in their home compost bin. It's not just industrially compostable. That's a real difference and worth putting on your menu board if sustainability is part of your pitch.

What sizes do your salad bowls come in?+
500ml, 750ml, 1000ml, and 1300ml. All available in kraft and bagasse. PP options are available in selected sizes for cold and freezer use.
Are these bowls actually microwave safe?+
The PP bowls are microwave safe. Bagasse handles heat well too. Kraft bowls are fine for warm food but we wouldn't put them in a microwave.
What's the difference between home-compostable and industrially compostable?+
Home-compostable breaks down in a standard backyard compost bin. Industrially compostable needs the high temperatures of a commercial facility. Our bagasse bowls are home-compostable — no industrial facility required.
Can I get clear lids for all sizes?+
Clear lids are available across the range. Kraft lids too. Check the product listings for which lid fits which bowl, or contact us if you're unsure.
Do you do custom printed salad bowls?+
Custom print is available on qualifying order volumes. It's not an off-the-shelf product — get in touch and we'll talk through minimums and lead times.
How fast can I get stock in Hamilton?+
Orders placed before 4pm on a NZ business day are dispatched same day on stocked lines. Hamilton freight from our warehouse is typically fast, but we won't quote a specific delivery time we can't guarantee.
