Salad Bowls for Christchurch Operators
Solid bowls that hold a grain bowl together through a 20-minute ride — we stock kraft and bagasse in four sizes, with lids that actually fit.
Nine Christchurch businesses already order their salad bowls through us. From CBD lunch spots riding the city's rebuild to suburban poke and Indian takeaway shops, the demand is the same: a bowl that doesn't buckle, a lid that seals, and stock that ships fast.
We carry 500ml, 750ml, 1000ml, and 1300ml bowls in kraft and bagasse. Clear lids, kraft lids, freezer-safe and microwave-safe options, and home-compostable lines if that matters to your customers.
Materials: Bagasse, Kraft, and PP
Bagasse is pressed sugarcane fibre. It handles hot food, it's home-compostable, and it looks decent on the counter. Good fit if your customers care about what goes in the bin.
Kraft bowls are rigid paperboard with a PE or PLA lining. They stack tight, they photograph well, and they're what most poke and salad bars default to for good reason.
PP plastic bowls are for cold food and high-volume operations that need the lowest unit cost. Not compostable, but honest about what they are.
Sizes and What They Hold
- 500ml — side salads, small poke bowls, snack portions.
- 750ml — standard lunch bowl, most grain bowl builds.
- 1000ml — generous main, Thai salads, bigger Mexican bowls.
- 1300ml — family side, catering portion, loaded build-your-own bowls.
Lids are sold separately and matched by size. Clear lids show off the food. Kraft lids keep it clean and minimal. Order both and see what your customers respond to.
Ordering for Christchurch
We dispatch stocked lines same day if your order is in before 4pm on a NZ business day. Christchurch is well-served by overnight freight from our warehouse, so most orders land next morning.
Minimum orders are per carton. No account needed to get started — pay by card online or set up a trade account if you're ordering regularly.
Compostable Options for Canterbury Operators
Christchurch City Council's organics collection accepts certified compostable packaging on the approved list. Our bagasse bowls are home-compostable, which is a higher standard than industrially compostable. Check the current council guidelines before putting anything on your packaging as compostable — we'll give you the spec sheet, the claims are yours to make.
If sustainability is part of your brand, the bagasse range is the honest choice. If it isn't, kraft does the job at a lower price point.
Frequently asked
What sizes do your salad bowls come in?+
500ml, 750ml, 1000ml, and 1300ml. All four sizes are stocked in kraft and bagasse. PP is available in selected sizes.
Do the lids fit tightly enough for delivery?+
Yes. Lids are size-matched to the bowls and have a snap or friction fit depending on the material. They're designed to hold through a courier run, not just a counter hand-off.
Can I get custom printing on the bowls?+
Custom print is available on larger runs. It's not an off-the-shelf option — get in touch with us directly to talk minimums and lead times.
Are your bagasse bowls actually home-compostable or just industrially compostable?+
Our bagasse range is home-compostable. That means they break down in a backyard compost, not just in a commercial facility. We can provide the spec sheet on request.
What's the lead time for Christchurch orders?+
Stocked lines dispatched before 4pm on a NZ business day typically arrive in Christchurch the next morning. Non-stocked or custom lines take longer — we'll confirm lead time at order.
Do I need an account to order?+
No. You can order as a guest and pay by card. If you're ordering regularly, a trade account makes sense — ask us and we'll get you set up.
