Sushi Containers in Tauranga
Tauranga's sushi scene is busy year-round, and a soggy tray or a lid that pops mid-shelf is not the vibe.
We supply sushi containers to operators across Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty. Crystal-clear lids, tamper-evident options, microwave-safe bases. Sizes from a compact 6-piece tray up to bento large, in rPET, PP, and bagasse.
Order before 4pm on a business day and we dispatch same-day on stocked lines. One Tauranga business is already ordering through us — and the catalogue is the same one Auckland and Wellington operators use.
What we stock for sushi

BioCane is bagasse-based — sugarcane fibre pulp, compostable. BioBoard is kraft and black card. Both sit flat in a display fridge without curling or collapsing.
Materials: what to pick and why
Three material options, each with a different use case.
- rPET — recycled PET plastic. Crystal-clear lid, good cold-hold, standard for retail display. Customers can see exactly what they're buying.
- PP (polypropylene) — microwave-safe base. Good for grab-and-go where customers might reheat.
- Bagasse (BioCane) — compostable, made from sugarcane fibre. A solid fit if your store is pushing sustainability credentials or your council has specific disposal requirements.
If you're running a tourist-heavy spot near the waterfront, clear rPET trays do the selling for you. The rice and rolls speak for themselves through the lid.
Tauranga hospitality: what we know about the market
Tauranga has grown fast. Around 160,000 people, a big tourism pull from the coast, and a hospitality strip that doesn't slow down over summer. Sushi stores here aren't just feeding locals — they're feeding visitors who want something quick, clean, and portable.
Tamper-evident lids matter when trays are sitting in a display fridge for a few hours. Leak-resistant seals matter when someone's carrying lunch to the beach. These are not small things.
Ordering and dispatch
We dispatch from our warehouse on stocked lines when your order is in before 4pm on a NZ business day. Non-stocked or custom lines have longer lead times — ask us before you plan around it.
Carton quantities vary by product. The BioCane Medium (F4642) comes 600 to a carton. The BioBoard range runs 300 per carton. If you're unsure what volume suits your weekly throughput, that's a quick conversation — not a big commitment.
Frequently asked
What sizes of sushi tray do you stock for Tauranga delivery?+
We stock extra small, small, medium, large, and long BioBoard trays, plus BioCane medium, large, and long. Dimensions on the BioCane medium are 188 x 134 x 24mm; long is 221 x 91 x 24mm. All are available to order online.
Are any of your sushi containers compostable?+
Yes. The BioCane range (F4642, F4644, F4646) is made from bagasse — sugarcane fibre — and is compostable. If you're looking for a certified compostable option, check the individual product spec sheets for certification details.
Can the bases go in a microwave?+
PP bases are microwave-safe. Check the product code before assuming — not all materials in the range are. If microwave-safe is a must-have for your customers, filter by PP when you browse the catalogue.
Do you do custom printing on sushi trays?+
Custom print is available on some lines but involves minimum order quantities and lead times beyond standard stock. Get in touch directly to talk through what's feasible for your volume.
How quickly can I get an order to Tauranga?+
We dispatch same-day on stocked lines for orders placed before 4pm on a NZ business day. Delivery timeframes to Tauranga depend on the courier network from our warehouse. We don't guarantee overnight — factor in a buffer if you're running low.
What's the minimum order for sushi containers?+
We sell by the carton. The BioBoard range is 300 per carton; the BioCane medium runs 600 per carton. There's no minimum number of cartons, but we're a wholesale supplier so single-unit orders aren't what we do.
