Brown Box Food Packaging
Kraft boxes that hold hot food, look the part, and don't fall apart on the way to the door.
Brown box food packaging is the workhorse of the takeaway world. Burgers, chips, rice boxes, loaded fries — if it's hot and it's leaving your kitchen, a sturdy kraft box is probably the right call.
We stock a solid range of brown cardboard food boxes in sizes that actually suit hospo use. No fluff, no minimum order theatre. Just good boxes, ready to go.
What Brown Food Boxes Are Used For
The short answer: almost everything. Burger boxes, chip boxes, noodle boxes, rice bowls, hot dog trays — brown box food packaging covers a huge chunk of the takeaway menu.
- Burger joints and smash burger spots — clamshell kraft boxes keep the stack intact and handle the grease.
- Fish and chip shops — flat-fold and hinged boxes vent steam without going soggy.
- Asian takeaways and rice dishes — straight-sided kraft boxes stack cleanly on a delivery shelf.
- Food trucks — light, flat-packed, and easy to store in a small prep space.
If your menu runs hot and casual, these boxes are built for it.
Kraft vs White Card: Which Box Should You Pick?
Both are food-grade cardboard. The difference comes down to look, coating, and what you're putting inside.
- Brown kraft boxes — unbleached, natural finish. They look honest. Good for operators who want a sustainable or artisan feel without paying for custom print. Grease-resistant coatings available on selected lines.
- White card boxes — brighter base for custom print. If your branding relies on colour, white card takes ink better. Costs a touch more per unit at low volumes.
For most high-volume takeaway kitchens, kraft is the practical choice. It hides minor scuffs, it photographs well, and customers associate the brown-box look with fresh, real food.
If you're running a premium dessert kitchen or a branded burger concept, white card with a print run might be worth the extra spend.

Ordering and Dispatch
Orders placed before 4pm on a NZ business day ship the same day — stocked lines only. Brown kraft boxes are a core stocked line, so that applies here.
We sell by the case. No single-unit minimums, no awkward bulk-order thresholds that only work for a central warehouse. Case sizes are listed on each product page.
Need a large regular order? Talk to us about scheduled deliveries. Running a tight storeroom? We can help you work out a reorder cadence that keeps you covered without stacking boxes to the ceiling.
Custom Print on Brown Food Boxes
Yes, we do custom print. Your logo, your colours, your box.
Custom print runs have a minimum quantity — this isn't a one-case job. Lead times are longer than stocked lines, so plan ahead. It's worth it once your volumes justify it. A branded kraft box does a lot of quiet marketing on a delivery driver's back seat.
Get in touch to talk through minimum runs, artwork specs, and turnaround times before you commit.

Are these boxes grease-resistant?+
Selected lines have grease-resistant coatings. Check the product description for each SKU. If it doesn't say grease-resistant, assume it's standard card.
Can I get my logo printed on the boxes?+
Yes. Custom print is available with a minimum quantity. Lead times are longer than stocked lines. Contact us to get the process started.
Are brown kraft boxes compostable or recyclable?+
Uncoated kraft board is generally recyclable. Coated or grease-lined boards may not be accepted in kerbside recycling. Check the product spec or ask us directly if this matters for your waste stream.
What's the difference between a flat-fold and a hinged lid box?+
Flat-fold boxes assemble from flat. Hinged lid boxes are pre-formed with a lid attached. Hinged lid is faster to close in a busy service and is popular for burgers. Flat-fold takes up less storage space. Both do the job — it's a workflow call.
