Which Garbage Bag Size Do You Need?
Choosing the right size comes down to your bin dimensions and how often staff change the liner. More frequent changes with a smaller bag can be more hygienic in prep areas. A larger, heavier-duty bag suits your main kitchen bin or skip-side waste.
- Small liners: Ideal for bench-top bins, front-of-house waste, and bathroom bins.
- Medium liners: The workhorse. Most commercial kitchen pedal bins and wheel bins under 60L.
- Large liners: High-volume kitchens, large wheelie bins, end-of-night clean-ups.
Measure your bin before you order. Bag capacity on the box refers to litres, not the bag's overhang — size up if you're not sure.
Heavy-Duty vs Standard: What's the Actual Difference?
Standard garbage bags are made with thinner gauge plastic. Fine for light office waste. In a commercial kitchen they're a liability.
Heavy-duty bags use a higher micron rating — thicker walls, more resistance to puncture and tear. If you're binning chicken carcasses, broken crockery, or bulk food waste, this is not optional.
- Standard gauge: Light waste, front-of-house, bathrooms.
- Heavy-duty gauge: Kitchen waste, glass, wet food scraps, anything sharp.
We stock heavy-duty lines as the default. If you need standard gauge for specific areas, ask us.
Bulk Ordering and Pricing
Buying garbage bags in case quantities makes sense. They don't expire, they don't take up much space, and you'll always need them. Running out mid-week and paying convenience-store prices is the alternative.
