Food Vacuum Bags

Keep proteins, prep, and portion packs sealed tight — no freezer burn, no waste, no drama.

Food vacuum bags are a staple for any kitchen doing serious prep work. Sous vide proteins, portioned sauces, marinated cuts — if you're sealing it to store it, you need bags that won't split under pressure or delaminate in the freezer.

We stock food-grade vacuum bags in a range of sizes suited to commercial kitchens. Strong seams, clear film so you can see what's inside, and compatible with the vacuum sealers most NZ kitchens are already running.

Who These Are For

Restaurants doing batch prep. Butchers and delis portioning product. Cafes vac-sealing pastries or coffee beans. Food trucks prepping proteins off-site. If you're running a vacuum sealer, you're going through bags — might as well buy them in bulk at a price that makes sense.

These bags work for dry goods, wet marinades, sous vide cooking, and long-term freezer storage. The multi-layer film handles the lot.

Specs That Actually Matter

Our food vacuum bags are made from multi-layer PA/PE film. That's nylon on the outside for puncture resistance, polyethylene on the inside for a food-safe seal. BPA-free. Suitable for freezing, refrigeration, and sous vide up to the temperature limits of your sealer.

  • Film construction: PA/PE multi-layer
  • BPA-free: Yes
  • Suitable for: Freezing, refrigeration, sous vide, wet and dry product
  • Seal type: Compatible with standard vacuum chamber and edge sealers
  • Finish: Clear, embossed channel pattern for consistent vacuum draw

The embossed texture matters. It keeps air channels open so the sealer pulls a proper vacuum every time, not just around the edges.

Sizes Available

We stock a range of sizes to suit different prep tasks. Smaller bags for individual portions, larger bags for whole cuts or bulk product.

  • Small: Good for single portions, sauces, and coffee
  • Medium: Chicken breasts, fish fillets, marinated cuts
  • Large: Whole legs, rolled roasts, bulk prep packs

Check the product listings for exact dimensions. If you need a size that isn't listed, get in touch — we can look at sourcing options for regular bulk buyers.

Smooth Rolls vs Embossed Bags — What's the Difference

Smooth film is what you'll find in most chamber vacuum sealers. The machine pulls vacuum from all directions, so the bag doesn't need internal channels. These are the bags you want if you have a commercial chamber unit.

Embossed bags (also called channel bags or textured bags) are designed for edge sealers — the kind that clamps one end and draws air out through the bag surface. The raised pattern keeps the film from collapsing flat before the air is fully removed. Wrong bag in the wrong machine and you'll get partial seals or none at all.

Not sure which you need? Check the make and model of your sealer. Chamber sealers are usually box-shaped with a lid you close over the whole bag. Edge sealers clamp one end of the bag externally. We stock embossed bags — compatible with edge sealers and most domestic-style units common in smaller NZ kitchens and food trucks.

Buying in Bulk

These bags are sold by the box. Buying more per order drops the unit cost, which adds up fast if you're sealing 50-plus portions a week.

Orders on stocked lines placed before 4pm on NZ business days are dispatched same day. For large volume or repeat orders, talk to us about regular supply arrangements — it's worth a conversation if you're going through boxes consistently.

Custom print isn't available on vacuum bags. If you want branded packaging for customer-facing product, check our other lines.

Frequently asked

What vacuum sealers are these bags compatible with?+

Our embossed food vacuum bags are designed for external edge sealers. They work with most domestic and semi-commercial edge-seal units common in NZ kitchens. They are not the right choice for chamber vacuum sealers, which require smooth film.

Can I use these bags for sous vide cooking?+

Yes. The PA/PE multi-layer construction handles sous vide temperatures. Always check the maximum temperature rating for your specific sealer and cooking setup.

How do I order and what's the minimum?+

Order through the website. Bags are sold by the box. There's no minimum order quantity on stocked lines, but the price per bag improves significantly when you buy in volume.

When will my order be dispatched?+

Orders placed before 4pm on NZ business days are dispatched same day on stocked lines. Orders after 4pm or on weekends go out the next business day.

Can I get these bags custom printed with my logo?+

No. Custom print isn't available on vacuum bags. If you need branded packaging, check our other product categories for options.

Do you offer better pricing for large or repeat orders?+

Yes. If you're going through boxes regularly, get in touch to discuss volume pricing. It's worth a conversation for consistent weekly or monthly buyers.
