Thai Takeaway Packaging, Auckland
Massaman doesn't travel well in the wrong container — here's what actually works.
We supply 54 Thai restaurants and takeaways across Auckland already. From CBD lunch spots to Ponsonby dinner service, the packaging needs are pretty consistent: something that holds liquid, doesn't warp, and stacks without drama on a busy Friday night.
Curries, pad thai, soups — they all need a container that seals properly and handles heat. We stock the sizes and materials that do that job. Order before 4pm on a business day and we dispatch same day on stocked lines.
Containers that handle the heat
Thai food is wet, hot, and often oily. A flimsy container leaks through the bottom or pops its lid in the bag. The products below are what our Auckland Thai operators actually use.
- RF0610.1 — 700ml Bonson Wide Base Container Black, 500/ctn. Wide base means it sits flat. Good for pad thai, fried rice, any dish that needs room rather than depth.
- RF4680 — Black Oval Container 500ml, 250/ctn. Oval shape works well for single-serve curries. Looks clean in a delivery bag.
- RF4683 — Black Oval Container 750ml, 250/ctn. Same oval, bigger serve. Right size for a family-style curry portion.
- H4208 — 5ltr DG Plastic Container with Cap. Bulk prep, sauces, stock. If you're making tom yum base in volume, this is where it goes.
Bio options if that's your brief
More Auckland operators are moving toward compostable packaging. We stock a few lines that are worth knowing about.
- RF4204 — Bio Square Container White 280ml, 130x130x45mm, 600/ctn. Good for dipping sauces, sides, smaller portions. Pairs with the RF4218 lid.
- RF4218 — Bio Lid to suit 280ml and 480ml Bio Square Containers, 600/ctn. Buy the lids separately — don't forget them.
- F4229 — BioCane Takeaway Tray 500ml, 180x124x42mm, 500/ctn. Sugarcane fibre. Handles heat, handles moisture. Flat tray style suits spring rolls, entrees, snack boxes.
- F1855 — Biopak Rectangular Container 500ml, 300/ctn. Rectangular footprint stacks neatly. Suitable for mains, noodle dishes, rice-based dishes.
Auckland delivery and ordering
We dispatch stocked lines same day if your order is in before 4pm on a business day. Auckland's a big market and we're set up to service it properly.
If you're not sure which container suits your menu, call us or flick us a message. We know what's working for Thai operators in Newmarket, Henderson, and everywhere in between. We're not going to try and upsell you something that doesn't fit your service.
What Thai operators in Auckland are typically buying
Based on what's moving through our Auckland accounts, here's the rough pattern:
- A 500ml to 750ml main container for curries and noodle dishes.
- A smaller 280ml container for sides and sauces.
- A bulk prep container — usually the 5ltr — for batch cooking and sauce storage.
You might not need all three. But most operators running a full Thai menu end up across at least two of those size categories.
Frequently asked
What size container suits a single-serve Thai curry?+
500ml to 700ml covers most single-serve curries with rice. The RF4680 (500ml oval) or RF0610.1 (700ml wide base) are the two we'd point you toward first.
Do you stock lids that seal properly for liquid dishes like soups?+
Yes. The RF4218 bio lids suit the 280ml and 480ml Bio Square Containers. For the oval containers, lids are included — check the product listing to confirm. If you're serving tom yum or broth-heavy soups, ask us which container has the tightest seal for your use case.
Can I get compostable containers for my Thai restaurant?+
Yes. We stock the RF4204 Bio Square Container, the F4229 BioCane Tray, and the F1855 Biopak Rectangular Container. All are compostable. Check local Auckland composting services for what they accept before you commit to a spec.
How quickly can I get packaging delivered in Auckland?+
We dispatch same day on stocked lines if your order is placed before 4pm on a business day. Transit time to Auckland depends on courier. We don't promise overnight — that's on the carrier.
Do you do custom printed containers for Thai restaurants?+
Custom print is available on some lines with minimum order quantities. Get in touch with us directly to discuss what's possible and what the minimums look like for your volume.
What's the minimum order quantity?+
Products are sold by the carton. Quantities vary by product — for example, the RF0610.1 comes in cartons of 500, the RF4680 in cartons of 250. Check each product listing for the exact carton count.
