Small Garbage Bags NZ

The bin liner you grab fifty times a week — finally priced for the volume you actually use.

Small garbage bags are a back-of-house essential that most operators over-pay for because they buy them from the supermarket in a pinch. We stock them in bulk so you don't have to think about it again.

These are workhorse liners — for counter bins, prep area bins, and anywhere you need a quick swap at the end of a rush. Sized right, priced right, and dispatched the same day if you order before 4pm on a business day.

What We Stock

Our small garbage bags come in a range of sizes suited to the compact bins common in hospo kitchens and front-of-house areas. We carry both standard and heavy-duty options depending on what you're throwing out.

  • 30L liners — fits standard counter and desktop bins
  • 60L liners — suits under-bench bins in prep areas
  • Standard gauge — light waste, paper, dry rubbish
  • Heavy-duty gauge — food scraps, wet waste, anything with weight

Sold in cartons. No single rolls at wholesale pricing — that's the deal.

Which Bag Do You Actually Need?

Most operators get this wrong and end up with bags that split or bags so thick they cost more than the bin itself. Here's how to choose.

  • Counter bin (5L–15L): A 30L liner folded over the rim works fine. Standard gauge is enough for napkins, wrappers, and coffee grinds.
  • Prep area bin (30L–60L): Go heavy-duty. Wet vegetable waste and packaging scraps will split a standard liner by the end of a dinner service.
  • Food truck or mobile operation: Heavy-duty 30L. You're moving the bag around more than a bricks-and-mortar kitchen — thickness matters.

If you're unsure, size up the gauge rather than the bag. A slightly bigger bag costs less than cleaning a bin that split on the way to the skip.

Bulk Pricing and How to Order

We sell by the carton. The more you order, the better the unit rate. There's no minimum order value, but the price breaks kick in at higher carton quantities — you'll see those on the product page.

Order before 4pm on a NZ business day and stocked lines go out the same day. Small garbage bags are a stocked line. We don't backorder them, and we don't run out quietly — if stock's limited, it'll say so on the page.

Accounts are available for regular buyers. Talk to us if you're ordering for multiple sites.

Black or Clear — Does It Matter?

For most hospo operators, black is the default. It hides the mess, looks cleaner if a customer ever sees it, and gives nothing away about what's in the bin.

Clear liners have a practical use though — recycling and compostables separation. If your local council requires sorted waste or you're running a zero-waste programme, clear makes it easier for staff to sort correctly without opening bags.

We stock both. Neither is premium over the other — it's just about what your operation needs.

Sustainability

We know plastic bags are a loaded topic. We're not going to pretend a bin liner is a green product. What we can say is that using the right size bag means less plastic per bin change, and that's a real reduction over the course of a year.

If you're looking for compostable bin liners to meet council requirements or your own sustainability targets, check out our compostable liner range. They're a different product with different specs — not a straight swap for heavy-duty waste, but right for the right application.

Frequently asked

What sizes are available in your small garbage bags?+

We stock 30L and 60L liners in both standard and heavy-duty gauge. Both sizes are stocked lines and available for same-day dispatch if you order before 4pm on a NZ business day.

Can I get bulk pricing on bin liners?+

Yes. We sell by the carton and price breaks apply at higher quantities. You'll see the tiered pricing on the product page. If you're buying for multiple sites, get in touch and we'll sort an account.

Do you dispatch the same day?+

On stocked lines, yes — order before 4pm on a NZ business day. Small garbage bags are a stocked line. Delivery timeframes after dispatch depend on your location and courier.

Can I get custom printed bin liners?+

Custom print on bin liners isn't something we offer — the volumes required make it impractical for most hospo operators. If you need branded packaging, we can help with other product lines.

What's the difference between standard and heavy-duty gauge?+

Standard gauge handles dry, light waste — paper, wrappers, napkins. Heavy-duty is thicker and handles wet food waste, packaging scraps, and anything you're tossing at the end of a dinner service. When in doubt, go heavy-duty.

Do you stock compostable small garbage bags?+

Yes, we have a separate compostable liner range. They're not a direct replacement for heavy-duty plastic liners in terms of strength, but they're the right call if your council requires certified compostable bags or you're running a waste diversion programme.
